8 and Under Program

Parents,

 

We hope everyone is settled back in to school and enjoying what remains of the summer. Below are some details regarding this fall’s 8 & under program with the Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association (CSAHA):

 

> Registration will open in mid-summer at www.CSAHA.com. Go to the REGISTRATION tab on the left of the home page to get started. Kids born in 2004 or later are eligible to play in the 8 & under program this season.

> Cost for the full season remains at $350.  To register for Season 1 it is $200 and another $200 for Season 2. Each season will include approximately 25 ice sessions.

> The 8 & under season will open with a free skate session on Sunday September 30^th from 4p to 5p at the World Arena Ice Hall NHL rink.

> The first on-ice hockey sessions will be on Monday October 1^st . The full season will likely end over the weekend of March 9/10 and Season 2 will likely start in early December.

> There will be a Parent Meeting on Wednesday September 26^th at 7p in the Penrose room at the World Arena (main building).

> Structurally, we will operate very similar to last season. There will be an ADVANCED group, an INTERMEDIATE group and a MINI-MITE group. Players will be divided by age and ability in to one of the three groups.

> Our schedule will be similar to last year’s as well. Ice times will typically take place on Monday nights and then once during the weekend – on Sundays in October and then on Saturdays from November through the rest of the season. The majority of our ice sessions will take place at the World Arena Ice Hall.

> As was the case last season, all on-ice instruction and games will be structured according to USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM). To learn more about the ADM for age 8 & under hockey, you can watch this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW9boifnxB8&feature=plcp
